1. Have clean diaper, water, and wipe on hand.
3. Remove the diaper. If it was soiled, place a change pad under baby so you can wash his bottom. Use clean warm water to wet the baby wipe. Fold the cloth over and use a clean section for each wipe. Do not use soap as it will dry the skin. You may need more than one cloth wipe to do the job--put only CLEAN wipes into your water if you are using a basin. (Smart Tip: Use a thermos to keep hot, wet cloth wipes near your change area.)
Note: Water is NOT needed in your diaper pail! Just put the diapers through the rinse cycle in your automatic washer before you wash them. This will do a BETTER job at getting them clean, and will lengthen the life of the fabric in your diapers. |
